Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has hit out at the Bolton Wanderers fans who drove out Gary Megson.
In his column for The Sun, Redknapp wrote: "Megson was not given a chance by the fans from day one and now they have their way. It seems the 2-2 draw against Hull was the final straw for the powers-that-be.
"Bolton were 2-1 up against Hull. It meant Wanderers were under pressure. Gary took off a striker and brought on a defender, which is the tried and trusted policy to 'shut up shop'.
"Hull went and scored and so it was bye-bye Megson. But tell me what else is he supposed to do? He picks the team but he doesn't have any control over how individual players perform."
He added: "I got it the other day from West Ham fans. I can take it but so-called fans have been on at Megson since the first day he joined Bolton and now he has been sacked. Happy New Year."
