Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is angry over claims they face losing Luka Modric and Gareth Bale in the summer.
Both stars could go if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Redknapp said: "Why should we be labeled as a club who will sell their assets? We're looking to build, not dismantle.
"Are Manchester City going to sell Vincent Kompany or David Silva, or Manchester UnitedWayne Rooney? You won't see Arsenal and Chelsea allowing their best players to leave, so why should we?
"If we go backwards we'll go nowhere, we'll slump back into mid-table mediocrity, and we don't want that. We want to add to the group and improve."
