Tottenham boss Mourinho: Madrid media received Bale pop well

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho insists he wasn't spoiling for a fight with the Madrid press earlier this week.

Mourinho had a pop at the Madrid media after Gareth Bale, on-loan from Real Madrid, scored in victory over Brighton.

But he insisted this morning: "Some of the press said I was going to look at Real Madrid's website but I didn't say that.

"I just said about the Spanish media, the media that used to not be very nice with Gareth and, yes I read, and, yes they were very fair with him and the connection with [Sergio] Reguilon, another player from Spain. They were very honest and I'm happy about that."

On tomorrow's Europa League clash with Ludogorets Razgrad, Mourinho continued: "We will go full power.

"I expect a good match. We've played already against the second best team in Bulgaria [Lokomotiv Plovdiv in qualifying] and it was a tough match.

"This will be tough. Nine league titles for Ludogorets is not for everyone, maybe Bayern Munich and teams like that.

"We need points and we go to Bulgaria with this in mind. They're a technical team with very good quality."
