Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident Spurs will cope without their suspended midfielder Mousa Dembele in the first four games of the new season.
Victor Wanyama, the club's £11million summer signing from Southampton, is expected to fill in alongside Eric Dier in his absence.
Pochettino said: "It is true that Mousa was important for us last season and is a big loss for us in the first few games, but we need to deal with that. It is not fair to say that the team dropped because Mousa was not in the team. Dele Alli was not there, too, and the whole team dropped."
"Victor knows us, how we work and the philosophy," added the Argentine.
"It was easy for him to adapt his quality in the team. From the first day of pre-season he felt very comfortable and settled. This is a good help for us."
