Luka Modric has targeted at least the final eight of Euro2012 for Croatia following their opening game victory.

The Croatian side defeated Republic of Ireland 3-1 on Sunday and Tottenham midfielder Modric wants a similar result against Italy tomorrow night so they can move into the next phase of the tournament.

"That's an amazing game for us as well," said Modric.

"I hope we can repeat this performance on Thursday evening and I hope we can win against Italy as well.

"It is going to be a different game, but we have to prepare well, bring this performance and play like we did (against Ireland)."
