Tottenham ace Kane accused of 'stitching up' Doucoure: Embarrassing himself

England captain Harry Kane has been criticized for his part in Abdoulaye Doucoure's sending-off in a Premier League game on Monday.

Tottenham drew 1-1 with Everton away from home in the league, denting their Champions League hopes.

Spurs did have an advantage for a period of the second half, with Doucoure clashing with Kane and getting a straight red for putting an arm to the Spurs man's face.

Home fans chanted 'cheat, cheat' as Doucoure felt that he had barely grazed Kane.

In addition, radio pundit Danny Murphy stated: “Not enough to send him on the floor, he's embarrassing himself.

“Why's he gone over like that stitching someone up? Doucoure would've been sent off anyway.

“A little flick to the face does not send you the ground like you've just been punched… but Doucoure's an idiot.

“He knows the rules, he's let his team down.

“For Kane to go down like this is embarrassing… if my kids played like that I'd apologize and probably need to sit in a dark room with a cold flannel on my face."
