QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has ruled out a move for Toronto FC's Jermain Defoe on deadline day.
The former Tottenham man, who has been linked with Arsenal and Leicester City today, has also emerged as a target for the R's but Fernandes was quick to pour cold water over any move for the 31-year old.
However, he did suggest that there was the possibility of Defoe making his way to Loftus Road in the winter.
"There's a will from both sides to do a deal," said Fernandes.
"It's just about whether or not they'll allow him to leave while they're in the play-offs.
"We've known Jermain for a long time, if we can't do something now then I'm sure something can be done in January."
