Toronto FC star Jermain Defoe has paid tribute to former England teammate Steven Gerrard.
Defoe believes Gerrard's international retirement will be a huge loss for England.
The 34-year-old Liverpool midfielder announced on Monday he was ending his England career after 14 years and 114 caps.
Defoe said: "How do you replace someone like that? He is a special player."
