Julian de Guzman has been left unprotected by Toronto FC for the 2011 MLS Expansion Draft.
Wednesday's draft, to benefit incoming franchise Montreal Impact, will see the former Hannover and Deportivo la Coruna midfielder up for grabs after the Canadian club decided to leave him out for their fellow countryman to take if required.
de Guzman was also left unprotected for last season's draft but Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers deemed his $1.9milion salary too expensive.
Teams are allowed to protect 11 players for the draft and cannot lose more than one to the Impact with designated Generation adidas (youth players) and homegrown players not required to fall into the protection category.
