Darren O'Dea admits he is excited about the arrival of new Toronto FC head coach Ryan Nelsen.
The QPR defender will officially take charge of the Canadian club on February 1 after he plays his final game for the R's after not knowing exactly when he would be free to lead his new club.
But now a date has been set, Republic of Ireland international centre-back O'Dea cannot wait.
"Certainly it was something I was concerned with when he was first appointed," O'Dea said.
"I was delighted with the appointment and obviously sad for (sacked coach) Paul (Mariner) because he's a fantastic man.
"I'm obviously delighted with that (Nelsen taking over full-time in Feb) and the first few days of training have been fantastic. He's played at the top level at my position so he's going to teach me a lot."
