George Dixon has joined Newcastle United's scouting team.

The Evening Chronicle says Newcastle United have beefed up their scouting team with the addition of highly respected former West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers talent spotter Dixon.

Dixon has over 30 years scouting experience behind him after scouring the Continent for players of Premier League standard.

He is one of three new scouts that will look to ensure the Magpies get to new untapped talent before their Premier League rivals.

Now the Geordie will assist Newcastle's head of recruitment Steve Nickson and work with fellow Toon scouts Mick Tait and Paul Baker.
