Championship promotion contenders West Ham have warned interested club's they will have to pay big for defender James Tomkins. Tomkins has been linked with a January move to Premier League side Newcastle with the Magpies believed to have already had a £3million bid turned down by the Upton Park club.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is waiting further offers for the 22-year-old when the transfer window reopens.
"We just have to wait and see."
West Ham are currently discussing a new long-term deal with their prized asset.
"Not that we want to, but you never know what's around the corner. It would be the same for anybody else.
