Manchester City's swoop last week for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony made the Ivorian the eighth most expensive domestic Premier League transfer.

The €36 million City agreed to pay for Bony pipped the previous eighth best of Marouane Fellaini's move from Everton to Manchester United for €35.8 million.

Five years on and Fernando Torres, now of Atletico Madrid, remains the richest transfer between Premier League clubs.
