The Togo Football Federation believe they can lure Emmanuel Adebayor back into the national team.
The 27-year old Manchester City striker, currently on loan at Tottenham, has not played for the Sparrow Hawks for almost two years but a report on the official Togo government website suggests that FTF president Gabriel Ameyi may have talked the ex-Arsenal star around.
"The president of the FTF, Gabriel Ameyi, had a long discussion on the telephone yesterday (Monday) with him," read the statement ahead of Togo's first 2014 World Cup qualifier against Guineas Bissau on Friday.
"The probability is strong that he will play in the match against Guinea Bissau."
Adebayor initially retired from international football after the Togo team bus was attacked at the beginning of the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola, leaving two delegation members dead.
