Group E of the Asian Champions League has become extremely tight after Tuesday night's results.
Beijing Guoan suffered a defeat to Ulsan Hyundai whilst Nagoya Grampus and Newcastle Jets drew to give every time a chance of finishing in the top two.
Beijing coach Lee Jang-soo is aware that the group is tight and was hoping his side could have at least drawn in Korea overnight.
"I really wanted to win this match," the former FC Seoul boss said.
"It is never easy to win away from home in this competition but I really wanted to win in Korea.
"We did our best but it wasn't to be. We have lots of opportunities left for us to pick up points in Beijing and that is what we have to do.
"Now this has become a very tight group and it is difficult to predict what will happen."
