Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has discussed the process of buying the club.

Thohir says it's an honour to be in charge.

"I was contacted from the United States and asked if I was interested in investing into a European [football] club of world-wide fame," Thohir told 101JakFM.

"It was Inter, and I couldn't believe it, because I'd always followed Serie A and the Nerazzurri in particular.

"How could I not have been interested? Inter are a global brand, recognised everywhere in the world.

"It was an honour for me, but also a responsibility. That's why I'm trying to do my best with this club, and I'll keep doing that because that's what it deserves."
