Aston Villa's Fabian Delph has revealed how the training sessions at Leeds United used to turn nasty with Chelsea great Dennis Wise.
Delph was at Leeds for nine years before moving to Villa Park in 2009 and spent time under the tutelage of Wise who managed at Elland Road between 2006 and 2008.
England international Delph recalled: "We used to have staff games so it would be youth team against the staff.
"Dennis Wise was the manager with Gus Poyet as his assistant at the time - and he could kick a few people.
"So they did get quite tasty. I certainly remember Wise going through me!
"I tackled him and he tackled me back. It was just one of those things, it was a game situation. They tended to get quite heated but it was all friendly.
"It was about them playing against and us showing them what they had."
