Thiago Silva enjoyed his first training session as an AC Milan player yesterday.

The Brazil international defender has joined Milan on a Bosman, but cannot play for the Rossoneri until next season due to a lack of a European passport.

Thiago said: "I was anxious to start, so to understand how things work here, but then when I started to train it went very well.

"It will be difficult to take Paolo Maldini's place, he is an idol and I am sure that he can still play at the top."
