Tevez brace sees Man Utd through to last four of FA Cup

Two first half goals by Carlos Tevez helped Manchester United to a comfortable 4-0 win over Fulham. Tevez put the Reds on course for a possible Wembley Final with two goals in the 20th and 35th minutes.

Any hopes of a Fulham fight-back quickly disappeared when Wayne Rooney made it three just after the break.

An outclassed Cottagers then conceded a fourth late on to Ji-Sung Park.

Fulham had briefly threatened before United took the lead, but once the league leaders made the breakthrough it became a stroll for Sir Alex Ferguson's team.

United midfielder Michael Carrick was full of praise for Tevez, telling ITV1, "It was a great strike - the second goal - he's scored quite a few to be fair but that one was special.

"His two important goals in the first half put us in control of the game and after that it was pretty comfortable for us.

"I think he's still played his fair share of games the same as everyone else, everyone gets rotated at some point and the players that have come in have been on top form.

"Hopefully that will continue because there's a lot of games coming up. But Carlos was excellent."

Carrick was impressed by the combination in attack between Tevez and Rooney.

The England midfielder said: "In the first half we played some good stuff and I thought the front two were brilliant.

"We created a number of chances and Wazza (Rooney) missed a bit of an easy chance but he made up for it. And we kept a clean sheet so we're very happy."
