Terry urges Chelsea to focus on Premier League

Chelsea captain John Terry has implored his teammates to get on with the job after Wednesday night's Champions League disaster.

The Blues were eliminated at the Round of 16 stage of Europe's premier club competition after drawing 2-2 with Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge despite playing 90 minutes of the extra-time affair with an additional player following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's red card.

?Chelsea lost by virtue of the away-goal rule after it ended 3-3 on aggregate which has crushed their Champions League hopes but given them further impetus to remain on top of the Premier League table for the rest of the season.

?"I am disappointed but it's gone, we have to pick ourselves up and go again. We have a big game against a very good Southampton side on Sunday," said Terry in the London Evening Standard ahead of the home clash with seventh-placed Southampton.

?"Southampton will come here on the front foot and if we're not at it, we will drop points and slip away in the Premier League.

"The Premier League is all we have got now and it's a massive one to go for. We are a few points clear and we need to maintain that gap. We can only do that by responding and picking up three points at the weekend.

"This makes us hungrier to win the Premier League. The manager told us that if we win the Capital One Cup and Premier League it will be a very successful year.  There is still an awful lot to do, but it's in our hands."??
