Terry tells Chelsea teammates: No time to dwell on FA Cup exit

Chelsea captain John Terry has told teammates not to dwell on their FA Cup humiliation by Bradford City.

Manager Jose Mourinho admitted that losing 4-2 at home to the League One side in the FA Cup Fourth Round on Saturday was the worst result of his career.

Terry told the London Evening Standard: "It was really disappointing on Saturday, especially after getting the home draw against a side from League One. But we have to move on, pick ourselves up very quickly. We have two big games ahead of us now.

"The fans will want to see a reaction because they were really disappointed, as you could tell. The players were very quiet in the dressing room, not much was said.

"From a club's point of view, we are expected to win those games, but having a kick up the backside can always do you good. We can't moan about it. Bradford put on a great performance and we have to lift ourselves up.

"We were back in training yesterday ahead of a massive game on Tuesday. We have to pick ourselves up for that and then there is no bigger match than Manchester City on Saturday.

"The game against Liverpool is in the semi-final of a competition so we want to go on, progress to the final.

"We missed out on that opportunity in the FA Cup, especially when you see some of the other teams have gone out (Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham). We're not there, but we have another chance on Tuesday to resurrect that.

"I would certainly hope that what happened against Bradford is a one-off. It hasn't happened very often, not in my time at the club.

"But we can't dwell on it, the games are coming thick and fast and there are too many big games at this stage of the season."
