Terry convinced Ancelotti long-term option for Chelsea

Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed manager Carlo Ancelotti did not hesitate in joining in the singing with the players as they celebrated their Double triumph.

After having four managers in three years at Stamford Bridge, Terry believes Chelsea are all singing from the same songsheet.

He told The Sun: "We came out of Wembley on a coach after winning the Cup and the boys were all pretty excited as you can imagine, having just won the Double for the first time in the club's history.

"We were having a sing-song at the back and Carlo appeared and wanted to know what the words to the songs were, what they were about and asked us to teach him. At one point he raised his arms above his head singing 'Carefree' at the top of his voice.

"There was also the song about celery and we had seen some sticks of celery being thrown about. That song's a bit unsavoury but we did our best to try to explain it! When we went on the bus parade around Chelsea on Sunday, the manager and I had been asked to say a few words to the supporters when we got to Parsons Green.

"He just grabbed me and said 'come on, let's sing'. It was totally his idea. We started off singing 'Volare' the old Dean Martin hit.

"I was surprised how good his voice was. He wasn't at all fazed by the fact thousands of people were listening. On the top of the bus, he was up and down and getting involved with everyone. He has been like that since he arrived.

"Carlo has embraced Chelsea, the way of life in England and everything about being over here. When I was at an England camp last summer and he had joined, he asked to have a chat with me.

"I got his number from our chief executive Peter Kenyon and we spoke on the phone. He wanted to speak to me and the other Chelsea players in the England camp. That says a lot about him as a man.

"He had three English lessons a day from the moment he started and by pre-season his English was good enough for us to deal with. It shows what he is all about. He has given everything to the club. Utter commitment.

"He looks upon everything as a challenge. Even when things looked wobbly for us, he kept convincing us that we could do well. He told us all to keep believing."
