Tennis star Nadal urges Real Madrid fans lay-off Casillas

Spanish tennis ace Rafa Nadal has defended Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Casillas again clashed with Real home fans during the 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday.

Nadal insists Casillas "wasn't at all to blame for the Valencia goals".

Asked about the booing of the club captain, Nadal stressed that the Bernabéu faithful are "very demanding": "This crowd give you everything, but they're also very tough. The likes of Cristiano and Zidane have also been whistled at here, alongside Iker… players who have done a lot for this club".

"As a rule, I would never boo anyone, but I can only understand booing someone who doesn't try or doesn't care. When someone does their utmost, you can't ask any more than that", the 28-year-old went on.

Nadal remarked that "the Real Madrid supporters are used to excellence and winning", adding: "The crowd are free to do as they please, but people have to remember the good times these players have given them".
