Millwall boss Kenny Jackett accepted the red card shown to Steve Morison at the end of the goalless home draw with Bristol City. "I've got no complaints about the referee's decision, it was a red card" said Jackett.
"You can't challenge like that. But it was frustrating for Steve, he didn't get any decisions and was getting blocked continually so I've got a lot of sympathy for him.
"You never want to lose your top scorer but we have other forwards at the club. It does change things but that happens, it's up to others to step up."
"Looking at the play-offs we've gained a point," he added.
"With the amount of games left to go it's an exciting time."
City boss Keith Millen was left to rue a missed late chance which would have given his side a seventh win in nine games.
"We are disappointed," he said.
"Considering it's a tough place to come and they are fighting for the play-offs, I would have taken a clean sheet.
"But when you analyse the game we definitely had the clearest chances to win it and when you see Nicky go through with five minutes left you expect him to score.
"He's disappointed. That would have won us the game and I think we deserved the three points."
