David Templeton is of the belief that Lee Wallace is capable of being full-time captain at Rangers.
The 25-year old has successfully deputised for injured Lee McCulloch recently and his former Heart of Midlothian teammate Templeton is confident he can be the man to step in once the veteran retires.
"I'm sure Lee Wallace could be Rangers captain with his leadership qualities," he said after Wednesday's 3-1 win at Annan.
"I'm not sure how long Lee McCulloch will keep playing. He is a massive player for us and a great captain so hopefully he will go on for a while.
"But when he is not there Lee Wallace will take the captaincy and has proved he will do a good job.
"He was captain on Wednesday and he is one of those players who will take that type of thing in his stride.
"Nothing fazes him and he talks a lot as well which helps all the boys, so it is good to have someone like him whenever Lee McCulloch is not available for us."
