Taylor sending off changes complexion of West Ham game - Lambert

Paul Lambert felt his Blackburn Rovers side were massively hindered by the red card shown to Chris Taylor against West Ham United on Sunday.

Taylor received a second yellow card when he brought down Victor Moses 10 minutes into the second half and Lambert believes it his dismissal contributed greatly to the 5-1 defeat at Ewood Park.

Rovers took the lead through Ben Marshall on 20 minutes before Moses responded six minutes later with a shot that Jason Steele would normally save.

But Dimitri Payet's stellar free-kick on 36 minutes and Taylor's red prompted West Ham to kick into gear and score a runaway win, much to the dismay of the Blackburn boss.

"Up until the second goal I thought we were doing really well. We got the goal and made a fist of it," he said.

"The first goal was the centre of the goal and Jason nine times out of 10 would have saved it.

"He has been excellent for us this season, but he will know he should have done better. The second goal is a terrific free-kick.

"In the second half we started well and then Taylor gets the sending-off and that changes the game."
