Taylor on fire as Preussen Munster beat Werder Bremen in German Cup

Former Kansas City and Chivas USA forward Matthew Taylor was the hero for 3.Bundesliga club Preussen Munster on the weekend.

The 30-year old netted a hat-trick and provided an assist as the third tier club beat top flight outfit Werder Bremen 4-2 in the first round of the DFB Pokal (German Cup).

Taylor levelled the score at 1-1 in the 54th minute after Eljero Elia's opener, before Niclas Fullkrug again but Bremen ahead in the 67th minute.

Not to be outdone, Taylor controlled nicely in the area before turning and slotting home his second nine minutes from time to force extra-time in which he supplied the go-ahead goal for Dima Nazarov in the 96th minute.

And to cap off a memorable match for the Ohio-born Taylor, he managed to make it 4-2 with another lovely turn and finish with two minutes remaining.
