Former Portsmouth midfielder Matt Taylor is delighted with his move to Bolton Wanderers.
"You need to be wanted. I wasn't in favour (with Harry Redknapp) and it was a case of 'time to move on', so I pushed to leave," recalls Taylor to the Sunday Times. "You only get one chance, not just at football, but at life. If I don't take the steps to get where I want to be, nobody else will. Harry understood that."
He pauses and adds, with a wry grin:
"I'm a nightmare to live with when I'm not playing. My wife will tell you that. I have a lot of dispendable (sic) energy, as she calls it, whereas if I'm playing, I'll have a couple of glasses of wine and go to bed on a Saturday night."
