Tamar Kadar hopes for the chance to establish himself at Newcastle United in preseason.

Kadar has centre-backs such as Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson ahead of him, and his left-footed counterpart Jose Enrique the firm first choice at left-back, the youngster is not daunted by the challenge.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I'm going to start the pre-season here.

"I enjoy life in Newcastle and I'm going to keep working hard. Before this season, I had two bad injuries. The last was a broken leg, so I missed six months.

"But I think I've had a good season in the Championship and now I just aim to build on that."
