Tactics pay off for Pohang Steelers manager Farias

Pohang Steelers manager Sergio Farias has pulled off a brilliant win over Kawasaki Frontale in the Asian Champions League.

The Brazilian tactician changed his formation to put the home side under pressure and it worked beautifully as the Steelers came away with a 2-0 win and took over their opponents position on top of the Group H table.

"I knew that their injured centre back and one defender were not available so I played with three forwards," said Farias.

"We were able to attack effectively.

"I also knew we would be able to play a good game if we did not allow Kengo Nakamura and Juninho any freedom to play.

"After taking a 1-0 lead, it turned into a tough game as Kawasaki increased their tempo and pressed hard on us. "Both teams played a good offensive game but our tactics led us to this result."
