The takeover of Bologna by a group led by Canadian investor Joey Saputo and American lawyer Joe Tacopina is closer to completion.

All parties are confident of making an announcement today.

"It's done. It's all done. We've signed the contract," Tacopina told Corriere di Bologna.

"On Wednesday, as planned, we will enter closing. I'm happy for all of us."
