Taarabt to continue on current QPR contract

Queens Park Rangers skipper Adel Taarabt will remain on his current three-year deal despite emerging as the club and competition's best player.

The 21-year old Moroccan playmaker, who was recently crowned the Championship Player of the Year, is 12 months into the contract he signed in August and has been a key contributing factor to the London club sitting on top of the league table.

But QPR boss Neil Warnock insists Taarabt will stay on the current contract he holds and will not be offered anything new just yet.

"I can't see that happening," said Warnock.

"Adel has been well taken care of at QPR, and there's no need to do anything for the time being."

QPR next take on 22nd-placed Sheffield United at Loftus Road on Monday April 4 when the Championship returns following this weekend's international break.
