Sylvinho admits he struggled in his first season at Arsenal.
The left-back is now an assistant coach at Corinthians.
"It's complicated, and I absolutely could not speak any English. But I realized it was much more than language, it was the circle of friendship, the locker room environment. The football locker room is very important," recalled Sylvinho.
"I was looking to spend most time in the field, being one of the last to leave to avoid this relationship in the locker room. I knew that people would approach me and ask for something, but I would not be able to answer anything. I kept thinking they were talking about me."
