Sydney skipper McFlynn hoping Cazarine back soon

Sydney FC captain Terry McFlynn is full of hope for the availability of striker Bruno Cazarine for tomorrow night's home clash with Wellington Phoenix.

The Brazilian talisman has made a great impact with the Sky Blues since joining in August but has missed the past two matches with a back injury.

McFlynn admitted Cazarine's presence would help the side greatly as they look to overcome a Phoenix outfit who were held to a 2-2 draw at home by the Melbourne Victory on the weekend.

"Bruno's a big help for us if we can get him on the park," McFlynn said.

"He's scored six goals in 10 games so he's certainly someone that we'll be looking to have available."

But coach Vitezslav Lavicka admitted the 27-year old may struggle to get up for tomorrow but could be ok for the weekend's short trip to Gosford to take on the Central Coast Mariners.

"He has started training again but we will make another decision about him after the fitness test tomorrow,'' the Czech tactician said. ''His back is serious - there's some space between the discs. It's hard to say though what will happen. We'll try to manage it through the doctors and the physios. Maybe it will be one week, maybe more. We need him to be 100 per cent ready.

''Hopefully he will be available to play on the weekend. He could be available for Wednesday but now, in my opinion, he is less than 50 per cent. So right now, I think we will wait. He needs more time to recover.''
