Sydney FC to lose Brosque to Japan

Alex Brosque is on the verge of departing Sydney FC for a contract in Japan.

The 27-year old striker has received an offer from J-League outfit Shimizu S-Pulse which is too good to refuse and it looks likely that he will leave the A-League soon.

The Australian reports that Brosque has a buy-out clause in his three-year Sky Blues deal which Shimizu are prepared to pay after having two initial offers rejected by the reigning champions.

The loss of Brosque is sure to heap more misery on Sydney who have already endured a tough title-defence which has seen them sit in the bottom three for most of the season. His absence is sure to leave a gaping hole in Vitezslav Lavicka's squad for the Asian Champions League which kicks off in March.
