Sydney FC has announced a major sponsorship agreement with Webjet, Australia's largest online travel booking website, reports SportsPro. The deal sees Webjet serving as Sydney's front of shirt and sleeve sponsor for the next two A-League seasons.
Though official financial details have not been released, the Australian media is reporting that the agreement is believed to be worth between US$500,000 and US$600,000 per season.
"Sydney FC has a substantial and passionate supporter base, a family and multi-cultural audience, as well as significant on-ground and TV viewership," said Webjet managing director John Guscic.
"Add to that the fact football is a global juggernaut and we feel this partnership is another step in broadening Webjet's brand appeal beyond Australian shores."
Sydney FC chief executive Tony Pignata added, "We are delighted to have Webjet on board as our major sponsor and we hope this is the start of a long and significant partnership. Our supporters have waited patiently for us to find the right brand to represent Sydney FC and I'm absolutely thrilled that we now have."
The Webjet logo will debut on Sydney FC shirts with a game against the Macarthur Rams at Campbelltown Stadium on Tuesday 14th August.
