Swindon Town boss Paolo di Cano is chasing Blackburn Rovers striker Nick Blackman.
Di Canio wants to take Blackman on-loan as a replacement for ex-QPR striker Leon Clarke.
"There is a player but it is not easy because he played in the first game in the Premier League before he had a small injury," said Di Canio.
"A Championship side can sign him but the club are not keen to send him to a Championship side because they are worried he will not play many games.
"He can come because he has the chance to play here. I don't promise anyone a place in the squad but if he comes I can see him playing many, many games for us.
"He is very good, he is 21, English but has had experience also of playing in Scotland, where he scored many goals, so we will see."
