Manchester City are hoping to work out a swap deal with Everton in a bid to land the services of John Stones.
According to The Sun, City are to offer £20million while throwing in striker Wilfried Bony as Pep Guardiola's desire to sign Stones increases having missed out on Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte.
However, the exchange deal is likely to depend on Romelu Lukaku who is attracting interest from a number of massive clubs around Europe.
New Toffees boss Ronald Koeman may cash in on the £65million-rated Lukaku but with interested clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus unwilling to pay that much, the asking price could be dropped if Ivory Coast international Bony is signed as a replacement.
Guardiola has bene linked with Stones for some time now and if the striker situation can be sorted out, the 22-year-old may be on his way to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
