Swansea's Michu best value-for-money striker in country

Swansea City striker Michu is proving himself the best pound-for-pound forward in the Premier League.

The Sun says Michu, who joined from Rayo Vallecano for just £2million in the summer, is much better value than Robin van Persie, Luiz Suarez, Fernando Torres and Co.

Michu blitzed Benitez's Blues in midweek and has found the net 16 times for the Swans, meaning his cost per goal works out at a bargain £125,000.

Suarez has scored 40 times since signing for Liverpool in 2011 - £600,000 per strike.

Even Dutch ace Van Persie's 20 goals for Manchester United this season have cost £1.1m each.

Torres' torrid spell at Chelsea, since he signed for £50m, has yielded 26 goals at a staggering £1.9m each.

The Spaniard still fares better than Andy Carroll, though. He has found the net just 12 times after joining Liverpool for £35m - and one of those was this season on loan at West Ham.

That means he has so far cost the Kop a whopping £2.9m per goal.
