Swansea City see Brighton boss Gus Poyet as the man to succeed Brendan Rodgers.
The Sun says Swans boss Laudrup is yet to sign a contract extension with the Capital One Cup winners and has been tipped to take over at Real Madrid in the summer.
Poyet, 45, snubbed Swansea before they appointed Brendan Rodgers in July 2010 because he had only just taken up his post at Brighton.
City chairman Huw Jenkins said: "We wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't have some idea of who will suit Swansea City."
