Swansea still after European spot - Ki

Ki Sung-yueng says Swansea City are still determined to finish as high as they possibly can.

The Swans went within four points of seventh-placed Southampton after beating Stoke City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

With three matches remaining, the Welsh club are eyeing a potential seventh-place finish which would see them qualify for the Europa League next season provided Arsenal beat Aston Villa in the FA Cup final.

Of the possibility of displacing the Saints, South Korean midfielder Ki said: "I think it's not impossible that we can challenge for seventh position.

"Of course, we have some tough games left and it will be difficult.

"But we have done very well against big teams this season and we will keep pushing ourselves as hard as we can."

Ki added that Swansea's next fixture, against the Gunners on March 11, holds no fears for he and his teammates.

"Maybe people think we will let up in the next game against Arsenal because we won on Saturday against opponents just behind us," he said further.

"But two years ago we won 2-0 up there and we beat them earlier in the season. So we'll try to get the double, like we did against Manchester United."
