Swansea City chief scout Erik Larsen has explained how they managed to snap up Michu from Rayo Vallecano.
Michu has been one of the big success stories of the Premier League this season.
"Rayo was under administration. This means that administrators and not the club itself decides whether a player is to be sold. Administrators are not from the footballing fraternity and are not necessarily particularly football savvy.
"Their task is to try to realize value for creditors. In this way it was possible in this case to buy the player at a very favorable price," Larsen told Ekstra Bladet.
