Swansea City boss Garry Monk has heaped praise on Aston Villa counterpart Tim Sherwood.
As the young managers get set to do battle at Villa Park on Saturday, Monk has sung the praises of Sherwood who has turned things around in the West Midlands since replacing Paul Lambert last month.
Villa have beaten West Bromwich Albion in both the Premier League and the FA Cup before hammering Sunderland 4-0 away on the weekend which prompted kind words from Monk who is well aware just how good an operator Sherwood is.
"He's gone in there and lifted the confidence in the group," Monk said.
"You need results to do that but they've got very good players there who obviously weren't playing to their full potential before Tim took over.
"But he's had an instant impact. He's a very honest guy, black and white, and that comes across in his interviews and the way he approaches the game."
Monk added: "He's had a fantastic start and I am sure he will take Aston Villa forward after being unlucky at Tottenham.
"He has been given his chance and taken the opportunity really well, he has got them going."
