Swansea midfielder Shelvey happy playing for Monk

Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey was delighted for manager Garry Monk after victory over Norwich City.

Shelvey admits he's enjoying playing for his former teammate.

He told WalesOnline: "The win does take some pressure off. We needed to beat Palace and West Brom, but that's the way it goes sometimes. The main thing is we got our three points against Norwich.

"With Monks [Garry Monk] he has been around this scene before and he knows what it takes to get out of this sort of thing.

"He helped us massively in the week. You are fighting for your life down there and if you want to play football in the Premiership next year, that's what you got to do.

"But it's been a lot more intense in training. I can't speak highly enough of Garry, he's a superb bloke as well as a manager."
