Swansea eyeing Sunderland target Mbodj as Wiliams replacement

Swansea City are planning to replace Ashley Williams with Kara Mbodji, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Swansea are expected to lose the services of captain Williams to Everton this summer and replacing such an inspirational figure will most certainly prove to be a difficult task for the Swans.

As a result, Swansea need to bring in a quality defender to fill the void set to be left by Williams' impending departure and reports suggest that manager Francesco Guidolin has identified Anderlecht star Mbodji as the ideal candidate to strengthen his backline.

The 26-year-old Senegal international has already been linked with Sunderland but the Swans are set to compete with David Moyes' men for the services of the former Genk star.
