Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers is happy Mark Gower has penned a new one-year deal.

The 33 year-old midfielder inked terms yesterday.

Rodgers said: "Mark thoroughly deserves this. He is a great professional who is getting the chance in the Premier League when he probably should have been playing at this level many years ago.

"He has made a valuable contribution to our success and I'm delighted for him and his family that he has the new deal."
