Swansea boss Rodgers hails Vorm influence for Fulham win

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers hailed Michel Vorm after victory over Fulham.

The Dutchman, known as 'the penalty killer' in his homeland, kept out Clint Dempsey's spot-kick with the score at 1-0 and also made excellent stops from Bryan Ruiz and Andrew Johnson.

Rodgers said: "Those are key moments and that's the best part of it.

"We looked at the video analysis of their penalty takers, Zamora and Dempsey and where they like to put them.

"We had some Dempsey videos and he normally puts them to that right side.

"He goes central or to the right and when you look at Michel's save he covered both. He went to his right but kept his left arm there.

"Normally when players are on a run up and they go to hit it keepers come out and that closes the space down a bit. But he just went from the line directly to his right and it means he's got a bigger area to cover. It was a great save."
