Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been told he must open his chequebook again to land his Serie A targets.

Real are chasing Lazio fullback Aleksandar Kolarov and Inter Milan right-back Douglas Maicon.

But Enzo Bronzetti, who has a good relationship with Florentino, told Sky Italia: "If the offers remain at their current levels, it's difficult to see these players moving to Madrid.

"We know that Florentino is a bit stingy when it comes to signing defenders."

Lazio want €25 million for Kolarov, while Maicon is valued at €35 million by Inter Milan.
