Sunderland target Jokanovic 'happy' to sign new Watford deal

Slavisa Jokanovic is open to signing a new contract with Watford after guiding the club to promotion.

The Serbian took the reins at Vicarage Road in October and has since seen the Hornets return to the Premier League while a win on the weekend will see them lift the Championship title.

Jokanovic, who has emerged on the radar of Sunderland lately, is out of contract in the summer but is likely to sign a rolling contract on £1million-a-year which he is likely to put pen to after Saturday's clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

"We're going to talk after the game on Saturday - I have a lot of plans for this team and I'm sure Watford are interested in what my plans are," he said.

"I am very happy here. It's a great place and this club has given me a great chance. I have tried to give them something back and I would be very happy to be working here next season."
