Steven Fletcher admits he is unsure if he is Scotland's number one striker.
The Sunderland forward broke a six-year scoring drought in international football when he netted a hat-trick in Scotland's 6-1 win over Gibraltar in Euro2016 qualifying in March but says that does not give him any guarantees on his starting spot under Gordon Strachan.
"The goals against Gibraltar were a bit of a relief really," he said.
"I hadn't scored for a long time for Scotland, so to get a hat-trick was more than I expected.
"Am I now first-choice striker? I don't know.
"We have a lot of good strikers in the squad. But while I've got the shirt I'd like to keep it as long as I can.
"There are always people there to keep you on your toes though - (Celtic's) Leigh Griffiths has been brilliant this season.
"So I need to keep putting in performances in training as there aren't any club games to impress in now."
